Change Fulfilment Method and Source Location

You can configure fulfilment method flexibility in Retail Express to ensure customer orders are processed efficiently regardless of stock location, helping optimize your retail operations and improve customer satisfaction. This capability allows you to seamlessly switch between fulfilment options—such as in-store pickup, delivery, or warehouse pickup—during the sale process, which helps reduce lost sales and improves inventory utilization across multiple store locations.

Setting up proper fulfilment method controls enables your retail operators to respond quickly to customer preferences and stock availability, ensuring your multi-store operations maintain flexibility while tracking inventory movement accurately. This helps retail businesses maintain better operational efficiency and deliver consistent customer experiences across all fulfilment channels.

Products can have their source and fulfil locations updated within a sale, for example if the customer will be picking up the product from another location, or if the stock needs to be transferred to the current store from another outlet.

📋 Note: You cannot change the Fulfilment Method for Cash & Carry sales.

Changing Fulfilment

From the Products tab the Fulfilment Method can be modified two ways:

By clicking on the icon in the Layby/Fulfilment column and selecting the new option
By double-clicking on the product row to display the Edit Product (detailed Product Information) tab and selecting the new option (this also allows you to select between different outlets to source the products)

The available Fulfilment Methods are:

Cash & Carry - the customer is paying for the product immediately and taking the product with them
Layby & Pickup - the customer will return to pick up the product at a later date
Delivery - the product will be delivered to the customer
Warehouse Pickup - the product will be picked up directly from the warehouse

Changing the Source Location

Once the product Fulfilment Method has been changed to an option other than Cash & Carry you have the option to change where the product is being sourced from. To access these settings:

Double click on the Product row
Select a Fulfilment Method other than Cash & Carry
The Fulfil and Source columns will be enabled
Select an Outlet as required
Click Done
