Retail Express POS provides advanced fulfilment options to help you source stock and supply products from different locations. These tools make it easier to arrange deliveries, manage stock transfers and keep customers informed about expected arrival dates.
In this video we show you the more advanced features of POS fulfilment, including Home Delivery, ETA and Source Locations.
Transcript
Welcome. In this video, we’ll explore some of the advanced fulfilment options available in Retail Express POS.
These options help you manage products that are not being supplied immediately from the current store. This includes arranging home delivery, sourcing stock from another Outlet and reviewing the expected arrival date of incoming stock.
Accessing the Fulfilment Options
Begin by creating or opening a sale in POS and adding the required products.
Select the orange Fulfilment tab to review how each product will be supplied to the customer.
Available fulfilment methods include:
- Cash & Carry
- Layby/Pickup
- Delivery
- Warehouse Pickup
Arranging Home Delivery from a Warehouse
In this example, the product is unavailable at the store, but stock is available at the warehouse. The warehouse will send the product directly to the customer.
Open the product’s fulfilment details by double-clicking the product row. On a touchscreen device, press and hold the row.
Set the fulfilment method to Delivery.
Next, select the warehouse as both:
- Source From – where the stock is coming from
- Fulfil From – where the product will be dispatched from
Because the Source and Fulfil locations are the same, Retail Express does not need to create an internal transfer.
Enter the required delivery or due date, then select Done.
Sourcing a Product from Another Store
You can also source stock from another Outlet and transfer it to the store where the customer will collect it.
For example, a product may be unavailable at Store A but available at Store B. The customer wants the product transferred to Store A for collection.
Set the fulfilment method to Layby/Pickup.
Then select:
- Store B as the Source From location
- Store A as the Fulfil From location
When the Source and Fulfil locations are different, Retail Express creates an internal stock transfer between the two Outlets.
You can view the transfer details and track its progress from the fulfilment information on the sale.
Reviewing Stock Availability
When editing the fulfilment details, Retail Express displays the Outlets the staff member has permission to access, along with the available stock at each location.
Use this information to select the most suitable location from which to source the product.
You can update each product individually or use Bulk Edit All to apply the same fulfilment settings to every product on the sale.
Reviewing Purchase Order ETAs
If a product is unavailable but is included on an incoming Purchase Order, the fulfilment information can display:
- The Purchase Order number
- Its current status
- Its expected arrival date
The ETA helps staff advise the customer when the stock is expected and select an appropriate due date.
If required, a special-order product can also be allocated to a specific Purchase Order. The sale will then display the Purchase Order’s progress while the product is awaiting fulfilment.
Understanding the Fulfilment Information
The Source column shows where the stock originates.
The Fulfil column shows the location from which the product will be dispatched or provided to the customer.
The Fulfilment tab can also display:
- Transfer details
- Purchase Order information
- Due dates
- Product lead times
- Stock availability warnings
The quantity fields show the number of products ordered, the quantity already provided to the customer and the remaining balance awaiting fulfilment.
Completing the Sale
Once you have selected the fulfilment method, Source location, Fulfil location and due date, complete the sale as normal.
Retail Express will record the fulfilment requirements and create any required stock transfer. Staff can then track the product through the sale until it is ready for delivery or collection.
