You can establish accurate starting inventory levels in Retail Express during implementation, helping your retail operations begin with precise stock records that support effective inventory management. This capability ensures your system reflects actual stock on hand from day one, which helps maintain inventory accuracy and supports reliable stock reporting as you begin using Retail Express.
Setting up correct opening inventory enables your retail operations to start with trustworthy stock data, helping optimize inventory management and purchasing decisions from implementation forward. This helps retail businesses avoid stock discrepancies by ensuring initial inventory records accurately represent actual physical stock across all locations.
To efficiently enter your product levels before going live, the Mass Download/Upload process is the most effective approach. This method allows you to quickly input large quantities of data by downloading existing product information, updating it in bulk, and uploading it back into the system.
It ensures accuracy and saves time when preparing your inventory for launch, streamlining the process of getting your stock levels ready for operations.
To enter your product levels before you go live, the Mass Download/Upload process is the most efficient method:
- Export the products from Retail Express
- Update the Quantity column
- Upload the updated information back into Retail Express
Once you go live we recommend you use the Stock Take feature to recount your stock (available in the browser, or using an Excel Upload method with barcode scanners).
Retail Express will still let you sell items in POS even if there is no stock available, so you can go live today and count your stock later!
