Overview
Maropost Commerce collects cart and customer details from people shopping on your webstore. This includes cart contents and customer email address. If a customer abandons cart (leaves your website) part way through a shopping session, Maropost Commerce can automatically email that customer their cart contents and a call to action link to encourage them to return to complete their purchase.
These emails are 100% customisable and support HTML and CSS. You can include details of the products in their cart, a message and even a coupon code.
A shopping cart that has not had changes for at least 1 hour is considered abandoned. The customer must enter an email address in Maropost Commerce, either in their customer account or during the checkout process. After this time has passed the notification email will be sent to the customer.

Customise the Abandoned Cart Email Template
By default, the abandoned cart email will look like this:

You can customise the emails to you're liking by editing the template code.
Please Note: Modifying email templates requires knowledge of HTML and our
B@se Tags. If you’re not familiar with either, a
design partner can provide a quote for your changes.
To edit the email template:
-
From your control panel, navigate to Settings & Tools > All Settings & Tools.
-
Select the System Templates tab and choose Email Templates.

-
The email template will be under ID 32 - Abandoned Cart Customer Email.

-
Click on the template name Default.

-
On this page you can edit the HTML and text of the email template and save changes.

Your abandoned cart emails will now include the customisations you've made in the email template.
Test
To test that the abandoned cart email is sending correctly, you need to go through the steps a customer would on your website. Add some products to your cart, log in to your site (as a customer would) or enter an email address in checkout. Then close your session. Within an hour you should receive the abandoned cart email just as your customers will.
You can also add your email address to the BCC field of the email template. You'll find the Abandoned Cart Customer Email template in Settings & tools > All settings & tools > Email templates.
