eBay Shipping Promotions
eBay's combined payment and promotional shipping options are available directly through their site. To use shipping promotions on your listings you need to set them up on eBay before linking them to your listing rules templates.
Your postage rule will now be created and you’ll see a Postage Discount Profile ID which will be used on your business policies or listing rule templates.

If you're using business policies to manage your postage, you can apply the shipping promotion rule directly to the policy.
Open your postage policy, and check the boxes that relate to the calculated or promotional rules you've created.

If you don't use business policies, you can apply the rules to your Maropost Commerce listing rules templates:
-
In your Maropost Commerce control panel navigate to eBay > Listing Rule Templates
-
Open the rules template that you wish to apply combined postage to by selecting the ID.
-
Select the Shipping tab and check the Apply My eBay Promotional Shipping Rule.

-
Enter the Discount Profile ID from eBay, and click Save Template & Revise Active Listings.

When using Promotional Shipping orders will download to Maropost Commerce with one of two service names.
- 1599 - Domestic
- 51599 - International
These services need to be mapped to Maropost Commerce shipping options so that the correct service appears on your order in Maropost Commerce.
Example 1
The flat postage rule has been set so that additional items are free, and no more than $10 will be paid for total postage. To use this rules you would need to enter the promo ID in listing template under shipping tab.

Example 2
Two different flat rate options are defined in this example. One for 5 per additional item. Each one of these has a unique ID number which you can then associate with a listing rules template in the system. Only the one you use on listing template will be utilised.
This setup also has a promo postage rule associated that does not require any ID added to listing rules template. It has been set to only charge a maximum of $20 postage no matter how many items are purchased.

Example 3
This final example utilises 2 different flat postage options but has the promo pricing set to be free shipping if total purchases are over $100 in value. This effectively eliminates the flat postage rules, but they still need to be linked on listing rules template.

-

This uses the standard price (e.g. Price A) when not in promo period ,and then the promo price (e.g. Promo Price A) when in promo date ranges. This is a more streamlined process as listing price revises automatically.

-

When your listings revise they will display the promotion price on your products.
Strike Through Pricing (STP)
Important: eBay has deprecated the strike through pricing feature, and it can no longer be activated for new accounts. Existing accounts with STP enabled are currently unaffected by this change.
Best Offer
Best Offer is an option available for fixed price listings that allows buyers to make an offer to purchase the item at a price that they select. As a seller, you can accept, decline or counteroffer the Best Offer.
To set Best Offer in Maropost Commerce:
-
In your Maropost Commerce control panel navigate to eBay > Listing Rules Template.

Field Name | Description |
---|
Start Price | The Buy It Now Price of the product. |
Best Offer Auto Accept Price | This is the price that eBay will automatically accept the buyers offer. Must be lower than the Start Price. |
Minimum Best Offer Price | Any offers lower will be automatically rejected. Must be lower than the Best Offer Auto Accept Price. |
It is strongly recommended that you base the Best Offer Auto Accept Price and Minimum Best Offer Price as a percentage of the Start Price. For example, in the screenshot below offers will be automatically accepted if they are within 10% of the start price, and rejected if they are 20% or lower than the start price.

-
Once you have set up the fields, Save Template & Revise Active Listings.
Please Note: Any offers that are not automatically accepted or rejected will need to be
actioned in eBay.

Markdown Manager
The Maropost Commerce eBay integration allows you to use Markdown manager to manage promotional pricing instead of our own promo pricing field.
Important: Listings on promotion through markdown manager will not be revised by Maropost Commerce (except stock level) until markdown manager is switched off or the promotion ends.
Markdown promotions are made in eBay's promotions manager. Once they have been created and assigned to your listings in eBay:
-
In your Maropost Commerce control panel navigate to eBay > Active Listings.
-
Click the Download Active Listings button so that Maropost Commerce know which listings are on promotion through markdown manager.
Force Revisions
This setting lets Maropost Commerce update the description of listings even when on sale. In most instances this will remove the sale price if the sale was setup using eBay's Mark Down Manager. We recommend updating the listing through eBay directly to preserve your promotion. If you still need to overwrite the promotion in Maropost Commerce:
-
In your Maropost Commerce control panel navigate to eBay > Setup & Tools.
-
Click on Settings.
-
Select the Update description for item on sale box and click the Save button.
Revise your listings, and they will update even though they are on a promotion through markdown manager.
Guaranteed Delivery Program
eBay’s Guaranteed Delivery program gives sellers more visibility on their listings that can be delivered in under three days to a buyer. Eligible listings will be highlighted in search results and buyers can filter results to see items that can be delivered to them using this program.
More information on the criteria, offer, and details can be found here.
Please Note: Guaranteed Delivery is only available for domestic shipping in Australia. If you have an eBay US account, please refer to the equivalent program
here.
Listings that you want to offer Guaranteed Delivery on must use a domestic rates table in the postage policy, so that you can specify the speed of your delivery to different parts of Australia.

- Opt in to Guaranteed Delivery here.
- Create your domestic postage rate table(s) in eBay.
- Create/update your postage policies in eBay to include the domestic rate tables you’ve just created as a postage option.
- Enable Business Policies in your Maropost Commerce account.
- Assign your returns, payment and postage policies to your listing rules templates. Make sure you’ve selected the postage policies with the domestic rate table option for any listings that should have Guaranteed Delivery.
- Revise all listings to update them with the latest postage, returns, and payment policy information.
Once eBay approves your account for Guaranteed Delivery, the Guaranteed Delivery filter will display your eligible listings.
