Inventory Change Log Report

Overview

The inventory change log is an historical record of stock changes over the past 90 days. We recommend you export the data periodically to keep a record of stock changes outside the 90 day period.

To view the inventory change log:

In your Maropost Commerce control panel, click on Reports.
Search for and click on Inventory Change Log.

You'll see a table of information, search filters to display specific information, and columns that can be added/removed from the table. They are explained below:

Column Name	Description
ID	Unique identifier of the change in the database.
Date	The date the change occurred.
Product SKU / name	The product where the stock change occurred.
Warehouse	The warehouse where the product’s stock change occurred.
Qty on hand change	The amount the quantity on hand changed (qty on hand = physical qty, plus kitted qty, less committed qty.)
Qty on hand	Total quantity on hand after the change occurred.
Warehouse qty change	The amount the warehouse quantity changed.
Warehouse qty	The total warehouse quantity after the change occurred.
Committed qty change	The amount the committed stock changed. A negative value indicates the stock was uncommitted.
Committed qty	The total amount of stock committed after the change occurred.
Warehouse committed qty change	The amount the warehouse committed quantity changed. A negative value indicates the stock was uncommitted.
Warehouse committed qty	The total amount of warehouse stock committed after the change occurred.
Build qty change	The amount the build quantity changed. Build quantity refers to the total amount of stock in a variation or kit parent product. A negative value indicates the stock was uncommitted.
Build qty	The total build quantity after the change occurred. Build quantity refers to the total amount of stock in a variation or kit parent product.
Component qty change	The amount that the component quantity changed. Component quantity refers to the amount of stock in a warehouse for part of a kit product.
Component qty	The total component quantity after the change occurred. Component quantity refers to the amount of stock in a warehouse for part of a kit product.
Reference	A link to the order, RMA, stock adjustment or other operation that initiated the stock change.
Information	The information column displays what caused the stock to change (message), how the change was made (API calls, batch process, control panel) and who triggered the change (application name, username, Global API key). More information can be found in the tables below.

Log Message

The log message describes what caused the stock to change on a product. The table below provides further context to each of the available messages.

Message	Description
Add product to order	A product has been added to an existing order, committing the stock.
Adjust product stock	Stock level on the product has been changed.
Adjust product variation stock	Stock level on the variation (child) product has been changed.
Adjust stock on product page	A user has changed the stock level on the product page of your control panel.
Auto-pick dropship fulfiled order	A dropship supplier has marked the order picked, which has updated the committed stock.
Bulk commit stock	Stock is committed in bulk across multiple sales orders.
Bulk pack orders	Orders have been marked as Pack in bulk, moving the stock from committed.
Bulk pick orders	Orders have been marked as Pick in bulk, moving the stock to committed.
Bulk uncommit stock	Stock is uncommitted in bulk across multiple sales orders.
Calculate kit stock from components (warehouse)	Kit parent stock level has been calculated based on components available per warehouse.
Calculate kit stock from components (all)	Kit parent stock level has been calculated based on components available across all warehouses.
Calculate parent stock from variation products	The build qty on the variation parent product is calculated based on the child products.
Cancel order	Order has been cancelled, making the stock available.
Change quantity on order	An orderline qty has been changed, updating the stock levels committed.
Change warehouse for orderline fulfilment	The warehouse has changed for an orderline, changing the warehouse’s available stock.
Change warehouse on order line	The warehouse has changed for an orderline, changing the warehouse’s available stock.
Checkout create order	An order has been placed on your webstore checkout, reducing the available qty.
Clone product and stock from	A product has been cloned, adding stock to the new product created.
Commit stock	Orderlines that were uncommitted changed to committed (e.g marked as New) changing available stock levels.
Commit stock for eBay order	Order placed on eBay has committed stock in Maropost Commerce.
Committed quantity calculated based on outstanding orders	Stock calculations have checked orders to update the committed qty of the product.
Create backorder automatically	Orderline been placed on backorder automatically.
Create backorder from	Orderline has been placed on backorder manually.
Create order	An order has been created and stock committed, reducing quantity available.
Create order from quote	Order has been created from a quote and committed stock.
Create product	Product has been created and initial stock entered.
Create product from eBay listing	Product has been created from an eBay listing, and initial stock entered.
Create product variation	Variation (child) product has been created and initial stock entered.
Close RMA and return to stock	Return merchandise authorisation created by the API which has altered stock levels.
Customer approved quote	Customer has approved a quote in the webstore, updating the stock in the quote to committed.
Customer cancelled order	Customer has cancelled an order in their control panel, releasing the committed stock.
Import order	Sales orders created by data import have their stock levels adjusted according to the orderlines.
Import order from BigCommerce	Orders imported from the BigCommerce sales channel adjust their stock levels according to the orderlines.
Import order tracking	Order tracking has been imported, marking an order dispatched, and adjusting stock levels.
Import product stock from BigCommerce	Product stock has been imported from the BigCommerce sales channel with new stock levels.
Import product stock from eBay listing	Product has been created from an eBay listing, importing the stock level into Maropost Commerce.
Import product stock from MYOB less un-exported order stock	Product stock has been imported from MYOB. Maropost Commerce reduces this number by the amount that are on orders which haven’t been exported back into MYOB, to prevent overselling between the stock and order sync processes.
Import product stock from QuickBooks less un-exported order stock	Product stock has been imported from QuickBooks. Maropost Commerce reduces this number by the amount that are on orders which haven’t been exported back into QuickBooks, to prevent overselling between the stock and order sync processes.
Import product stock from SAASU less un-exported order stock	Product stock has been imported from SAASU. Maropost Commerce reduces this number by the amount that are on orders which haven’t been exported back into SAASU, to prevent overselling between the stock and order sync processes.
Import product stock from Unleashed less un-exported order stock	Product stock has been imported from Unleashed. Maropost Commerce reduces this number by the amount that are on orders which haven’t been exported back into Unleashed, to prevent overselling between the stock and order sync processes.
Import product stock from Vend less un-exported order stock	Product stock has been imported from Vend. Maropost Commerce reduces this number by the amount that are on orders which haven’t been exported back into Vend, to prevent overselling between the stock and order sync processes.
Import stock levels	Data import has updated stock levels.
Line added to stock transfer	Stock has been added to a pending stock transfer.
Line updated on stock transfer	Stock has been changed on a pending stock transfer.
Line removed from stock transfer	Stock has been removed from a pending stock transfer.
Pack order automatically	Sales order has been marked packed through a batch process.
Pick order	Sales order has been picked, removing the committed qty.
Process stocktake	A stocktake has adjusted the stock level of a product.
Purchase order received	A purchase order has been received, increasing the stock level of a product.
Remove product from order	A product has been manually removed from the sales order, making stock available again.
Reset global calculated stock levels due to product deletion	The product has been deleted and stock removed.
Reset global calculated stock levels due to product SKU change	The product SKU has been changed and stock adjusted to match the new amount for the product.
Reset global calculated stock levels due to product SKU change. Removing quantity as this is a parent product.	The product SKU has been changed and stock removed as it is a parent product, which doesn’t hold stock.
Reset global calculated stock levels due to stock recalculation	Stock recalculation process has reset the stock level of this product.
Reset global calculated stock levels due to stock recalculation. Removing quantity as this is a parent product.	Stock recalculation process has removed stock from this parent product.
Reset warehouse calculated stock levels due to product deletion	The product has been deleted and stock removed.
Reset warehouse calculated stock levels due to product SKU change	The product SKU has been changed and warehouse stock adjusted to match the new amount for the product.
Reset warehouse calculated stock levels due to product SKU change. Removing quantity as this is a parent product.	The product SKU has been changed and warehouse stock removed as it is a parent product.
Reset warehouse calculated stock levels due to stock recalculation	Stock recalculation process has reset the warehouse stock level of this product.
Reset warehouse calculated stock levels due to stock recalculation. Removing quantity as this is a parent product.	Stock recalculation process has removed the warehouse stock as it is a parent product.
Set stock due to SKU change	A product SKU has changed, with a new stock level set.
Stock transfer transitioned from (from status) to (to status)	A stock transfer's status has changed, and adjusted stock levels in the warehouse. Refer to the stock transfer article for more information on how status affects stock levels.
Store quantity adjusted due to committed and warehouse quantity	Store qty changed so that it matches the total of stock committed and available in the warehouse.
Uncommit stock	Stock on order has been marked uncommitted, making it available again.
Uncommit stock for eBay order	Stock has been released from an eBay transaction, making it available again.
Unpick order	Orderline which was picked has been unpicked, adjusting the warehouse stock level.
Zero stock due to SKU change	A product SKU has changed, and the stock level set to zero.

ID, Batch and Location

The ID, batch or location information describes how the change was made. This includes API calls, Maropost Commerce batch processes (e.g. data import) and your control panel.

API action: AddOrder	Change has been made through the AddOrder API endpoint.

Batch module: accapi_batch	Change is due to an accounting integration process.
Batch module: data_import	Change is due to a data import process.
Batch module: ebay_batch	Change is due to an eBay integration process.
Location: Checkout	An order has been placed on your webstore checkout.
Location: Control Panel	Change has been made in your control panel.
Location: Pick n Pack	Change has been made in the Pick’n Pack applciation.
Location: Webstore	Change has been made in your webstore.

Application, User and Process

The application, user or process that instigates the stock change. In situations where the global API key is used to make changes there is no specific username to record against the change. If you're uncertain which user or application is using your global API key, it can be regenerated so that anyone using it will be denied access.

Dropshipper: {username}	Change was made by the named dropshipper user.
Process: {batchId}	Change was made by a batch process. Refer to the ID for more information.
User: {username}	Change was made by the named user.
User: Global API Key	Change was made through the API using the Global API key.

Export the Inventory Change Log Data

The Inventory Change Log only holds data for 90 days. Entries which are more than 90 days old are removed, so we recommend that you make backups if you wish to keep historical records. To export data from the Inventory Change Log:

In your Maropost Commerce control panel, click on Reports.
Search for and click on Inventory Change Log.
Click the Export current results as CSV file button.

Tip: Use the filters to narrow down your results before exporting.

A CSV file with the displayed data will be downloaded.
