Create a Return
To create a return transaction in Maropost POS:

From the side menu in Maropost POS, tap on the New Return button.

-
The Maropost POS interface will change colour to indicate that you are performing a return.

Tip: To record the customer's details on the return click/tap Add customer to return
Add Products to the Return
So that inventory and accounting can be adjusted correctly, you must specifiy which products are being returned:
-
You can add products to the return in the same way you would add products to a sale. Browse through your categories, scan a barcode or use the search bar at the top of the POS screen to find and add the products being returned. Products being returned will appear in the item list on the right side of the screen just as they would for a sale.

-
If you click/tap on the products in the list you will be able to make quick changes to the quantity being returned, add notes and edit the price of the return. This is important as the price that you sold the item might be different from the price of the item now.

-
When you are ready to proceed click/tap on the Return Now button.
Refund a Customer
If you're processing the retun as a refund you need to reord how it is being paid:
-
In the same way you can select a payment method for an order, selecting a payment method for your return is as easy as simple as a quick tap on the method of your choice.

-
You can now refund the customer with cash, or process the refund back to their card with your eftpos terminal.
Return Products to Stock
If the products being returned are fit for resale, you can return them to stock to update your inventory levels. If not, you can also ensure inventory is not changed. To process the return to stock:
-
After selecting a refund method, you will need to decide whether or not to return the items back into stock. If you select yes, then Maropost POS will increase the stock levels for all items in your current outlet.

-
If you select no, then your stock levels will be unaffected by the return. If you have a more complex return case or policy, you may need to select ‘no’ at this time and perform a stock adjustment from your Maropost Commerce control panel or inventory management system later.

Process an Exchange
Maropost POS does not support exchanges directly. Instead, refund the items that are being returned and create a new sale for the items that are being exchanged.
