A listing rules template is used to list products to eBay. It contains all the rules that determine how products are listed. For example, it defines a product’s selling format (fixed price or auction) and listing duration (e.g. 'Good till cancelled', 30 days, 10 days etc).
Rather than choose these setting for every single product, you instead do it in the rules template. You then assign the rules template to the product so that Maropost Commerce can list it according to your settings. You can assign an unlimited number of products to a listing rules template. Note that in a rules template you'll also find design templates.
Design Templates
A design template is a format for the look of the listing: the layout, colours and logo.
There are a number of design template options:
Maropost Commerce's design templates are dynamic and highly customisable via custom html, Custom Style Sheets (CSS) and combined with B@SE (Maropost Commerce's template tagging language).
Tip: A design template is assigned to one or more Listing Rules templates on the Design tab of the Listing template screen.
Add a Listing Rules Template
In your Maropost Commerce control panel navigate to eBay > Listing rules templates and click the Add New button.

Use Multiple Listing Rules Templates
Multiple listing rules templates may be required under the following circumstances:
- Selling through multiple eBay stores / sites
- Offering different shipping services for different products (e.g certain items are available for express delivery while others are not)
- Selling in multiple selling formats (e.g 'Auction' or 'Fixed Price')
- Listing products at different durations (e.g 30 day or 7 day listings)
- Offering different payment options or returns policies for different products
- Selling products with variations (e.g different colours and sizes)
Please Note: Keeping eBay Listing Rules templates as simple as possible will reduce the number of templates and streamline the eBay listing management process
