Payment methods have a number of common settings that alter the way they display and their functionality. To edit your payment method settings:
-
In your Maropost Commerce control panel navigate to Settings & Tools > Payment Methods.
-
Click the Configure button next to the payment method you want to edit.
-
Modify your payment method settings to suit your needs, as per the table below:
Setting Name | Description |
---|
Sort Order | Customise the order of your accepted payment methods on the checkout page by entering a number. Methods with a higher number will appear higher in the list. |
Display Name | The name of the payment method that your customers will see in checkout. |
Checkout Description | Extra details about your payment method (such as direct deposit information or surcharges). |
Active/Enabled | Toggle this setting to turn your payment methods on and off. |

Allow customers to save their cards for future purchases | Available on some credit card gateways, this stores a token that allows further payments to be taken if authorised by your customer. |
Currency | The currency the payment method operates in. |
Surcharge | An additional percentage increase (passed on to the customer) for using this payment method. Ensure you comply with applicable laws regarding surcharges. |
Min Spend | Hides the payment method if the order amount is less than the min spend amount. |
Max Spend | Hides the payment method if the order amount is more than the max spend amount. |
User Groups | You can toggle the visibility for each payment method on a user group basis. Useful to show special payment methods (e.g. cheque, direct deposit) to wholesale or VIP customers (requires the customer groups add-on). |
eBay Payment Mapping | Payment Methods can be mapped to a specific eBay Payment Method. See this article for more information. |
