As a merchant within Amazon Australia, most products sold attract the standard 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Currently, there is no way to flag products as ‘tax free’, or ‘includes tax’ within Amazon Australia. However, whilst there is a tax field in most Amazon product import templates, it is not yet active. As such, Amazon assumes that if you’re listing a product that incurs GST, you are adding the appropriate amount of tax (if any) to the cost of the product. In other words, if the products you sell attract GST, your prices on Amazon.com.au must include GST.
As a Maropost Commerce Cloud customer, all products will be listed within Amazon Australia according to the price listed for each product (in the selected price group or default if configured). Therefore, if a product is listed as Tax Free or Tax Inclusive it will list within Amazon Australia for the amount listed on the product card.
When orders are created, Maropost Commerce validates orderliness against the product (in Maropost Commerce) to determine if the product is tax free or tax inclusive. Once determined, the tax displays on the order.
