Automated Social Media Campaigns enable social media marketers to create a 'Playlist' (a.k.a. Content Category) of pre-created posts and tweets that are posted to social media accounts on a recurring basis. So, rather than scheduling individual posts, the social media marketer sets a recurring schedule for the playlist. The first available content from the playlist gets posted at the scheduled time slot. Once content in the playlist has been posted, it just goes to the end of the playlist, to be reposted as the playlist cycles through its posts.
The social media marketer doesn’t schedule an exact piece of content to be posted at a specific date and time. Instead, the marketer schedules a date and time when system-selected content from a Content Category will be posted, and to which connected social media accounts it is posted to. On the Date/Time of the scheduled post, the content that gets posted is simply the first available content from the Content Category’s queue. Once all the content within Content Category’s queue has been posted at least once in the cycle, the queue is reshuffled. Of course, the shuffle makes sure that the first content in the new queue is not the last content posted prior to the re-shuffle.
The marketer has additional controls over scheduled posts including:
- Skip a post scheduled for a particular date/time
- Pause posts for a Content Category
- Manually re-shuffle all posts in a Content Category
