Data Journeys also present a schematic for Automation similar to Journeys; however, while the Journeys are for individual contacts, the Data Journeys are for the management of bulk data. You can use Data Journeys to import or export a list, execute an SQL Query, or send a campaign to a group of contacts.
You can use the following widgets to create a journey:
- Data Journey Triggers: Use a Data Journey Trigger widget to define the rules by which a contact enters the Data Journey. Every trigger has a different function and can be used to initiate the management of bulk data. Learn More
- Data Journey Actions: Use a Data Journey Action widget to define the course of action to be initiated; for example, start the import, trigger a Journey, toggle data Journey, FTP upload, HTTP post, secure list import, and so on. Learn More
- Data Journey Filters: Use a Data Journey Filter widget to add branching logic to the Journey. There are two filter widgets available to you: % Split and A/B Split. Learn More
- Data Journey Delays: Use a Data Journey Delay widget to delay the next step in a Data Journey for a certain time period. Learn More
- Data Journey End: Use the Data Journey End widget to terminate a Data Journey. Learn More

Creating Data Journeys
- In Navigation, go to AUTOMATION and then select Data Journey.
On the Data Journeys index page, click New Data Journey. The New Data Journey dialog box opens.
- On the New Data Journey dialog box, enter a name for the Data Journey.
- Optionally, select a date and time at which the Data Journey will be automatically disabled.
- The Enabled checkbox lets you specify whether you want your Data Journey to be live upon saving. The checkbox is selected by default.
- Select the Allow Multiple Instances checkbox if you want the Journey to be triggered multiple times depending upon the trigger that you have selected.
Click Save. You are directed to the canvas page where you can use the Data Journey widgets to define your Data Journey.
- On the left side of the canvas, you can see all the widget elements – Triggers, Actions, Filters, Delays, and End.
You can simply click a widget element and it appears on the canvas. Then, double-click the widget to fill in the details. You can drag the widget anywhere along the dimension of the canvas.

📋 Note:
- Remember to connect your widgets indicating the Data Journey flow.
- The connection of all widgets must terminate with an End widget.
- In a widget dialog box, the Detach button disconnects the node connected to the next widget element. And, the Remove button removes the widget from the Data Journey builder page.
- Once you have set up your Data Journey, click Save.
📋 Note: You will not be able to save your Data Journey until all widgets have been filled in and have been all connected.
