SMS regulations vary by region and are designed to protect recipients from receiving messages at intrusive hours. Sending outside permitted windows can result in compliance violations, damage to your brand reputation, and potential legal consequences, making it essential to align your campaigns with the rules that apply to your contacts' locations.
Maropost Marketing Cloud makes this straightforward with a built-in permitted SMS sending hours setting. Whether your campaign operates on a fixed timezone or needs to adapt to each contact's local timezone, you can configure a precise sending window and let the system handle the rest automatically.
To comply with regional SMS regulatory laws, you can use the Permitted SMS Sending Hours settings to calibrate your SMS campaign within your area’s legally permitted sending window.
Managing Permitted SMS Sending Hours
Follow the steps below to access and configure your SMS sending hours to ensure your campaigns remain compliant and reach contacts only within permitted timeframes.
- To access this feature, go to the navigation panel and click on Settings.
- Scroll down to the Campaigns category and select Permitted SMS Sending Hours.
- On the manage settings page, configure your SMS campaign sending timeline based on a campaign’s fixed timezone or your contacts' local timezone.
- By default, the system sets the timings to 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, which can be adjusted in 30-minute intervals. Ensure the “Start” and “End” times aren’t identical.
- A tab is available to reset the sending hours back to their default timeframe (i.e., 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM).
- When sending hours are adjusted for a contact's local timezone, the system automatically pauses that contact's SMS journey outside the permitted sending hours for their region. Optionally, you can pause a contact’s transactional SMS message delivery during the non-permitted sending hours for their region.
- Save the changes once you have established your SMS campaign's timing schedule.
