Previewing your email content before sending helps ensure your campaigns maintain a professional appearance and deliver the intended message to recipients. You can test how emails will display across different email clients and verify personalization elements, which helps optimize engagement rates by catching display issues and ensuring your content appears as designed to all subscribers.
This preview capability enables you to deliver consistent brand experiences while reducing the risk of sending emails with formatting issues or incorrect personalization, thereby helping to maintain subscriber trust and campaign effectiveness.
The Preview feature on our content builders enables you to preview how your emails will appear to your contacts. You can also preview how your emails will appear in different email clients without having to go to the campaign builder.
Content Preview vs. Render Preview
The content preview shows how your email will appear to any contact. You can see the preview based on a specific contact by entering their contact information (email address). The Render Preview shows how your email will appear in various email clients.
Content Preview
On the Email Content index page, either click the content name or select the content from the Actions drop-down list, and choose Preview Content. Here, on the PREVIEW tab, you can see the email preview.
Previewing Based on User
You can view the content preview for any specific user. You can specify the contact and see how the content will look to them.
There are two ways you can select a user to see the preview:
- Preview By Contact: Enter the email address and click the search icon. If you enter an email address that's not in your contact list, then you'll get an error message stating that the contact doesn't exist.
- Preview By List: Select a list, then select a contact from the list.
Previewing Based on Dynamic Block
If you have dynamic blocks in your content, you'll automatically see the filter option to preview based on dynamic content. If an email's content includes dynamic blocks, the preview displays the original content by default. Then, once you select an option from the Dynamic Block drop-down, the preview is rendered with the content based on the option selected.
Render Preview
On the email preview page, click the RENDER PREVIEW button to preview your email on various email clients. Marketing Cloud supports previews for web, mobile, and application-based email clients.
