Maropost offers a 14-day free trial that gives you access to all three core products: Marketing Cloud (MMC), Service Cloud (MSC), and Commerce Cloud (MCC). The trial is designed to help you explore platform capabilities, set up key workflows, and evaluate whether Maropost meets your business needs before committing to a paid plan.
During the trial, predefined feature limits are applied across all products to ensure fair use. Premium capabilities remain visible inside the platform but are locked until you upgrade to a paid subscription.
This article explains how to sign up for a free trial, complete initial onboarding, explore the platform, and transition to a paid plan when you are ready.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, confirm that you meet the following requirements:
- You have a valid business email address. Personal email addresses (such as Gmail or Yahoo) are not accepted during sign-up.
- Your company details are available, including your company name and company website URL.
Note: Only business email addresses are accepted during the sign-up process. Submissions using personal email domains will not be processed.
Step 1: Sign Up for a Free Trial
1. Navigate to the Maropost website.
2. Click Start Free Trial on the homepage.
3. Complete the sign-up form with the following details, after which you can click on Start your free trial to submit the form:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email (business email required)
- Company Name
- Company URL
Step 2: Verify Your Email Address
After submitting the sign-up form, Maropost sends a verification email to the address you provided.
1. Open the verification email in your inbox.
2. Click the verification link inside the email.
Once verified, your free trial account is activated, and you gain access to all three Maropost products.
Warning: Your trial period begins from the moment your account is activated, not from the date you submitted the sign-up form. You have 14 days from activation to explore the platform.
Step 3: Complete Micro-Onboarding
After your account is activated, the platform guides you through a micro-onboarding flow. This flow introduces you to the key setup actions available across the three products.
Common onboarding actions include:
- Creating and importing contacts
- Launching your first marketing campaign
- Connecting your online store
Guided walkthroughs and contextual prompts appear throughout the onboarding experience to help you complete these actions and obtain desired outcomes quickly.
Tip: Completing the onboarding steps early gives you more time to explore advanced features during your trial period.
Step 4: Explore the Platform During Your Trial
Your trial provides access to Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, and Commerce Cloud. Each product operates within trial-level feature limits.
Understanding Feature Limits
The table below describes how the trial experience differs from a paid subscription:
Access Type | Feature Availability | Usage Limits |
|---|
Free Trial | All products accessible | Predefined limits apply per product |
Paid Subscription | All products accessible | Limits defined by the selected package |
Premium features are visible within each product but appear as “locked.” You can preview what is available on paid plans without being able to activate those features during the trial.
In-App Trial Notifications
The platform displays your remaining trial days and progress milestones directly inside the application. These reminders help you track how much time you have left and identify features you may want to evaluate before the trial ends.
Step 5: Manage Your Trial Lifecycle
Your trial progresses through the following stages. Understanding these stages helps you plan your upgrade decision.
The table below defines each trial lifecycle stage:
Stage | Trigger |
|---|
Trial Signup Initiated | Sign-up form submitted |
Trial Activated | Email verified, and account provisioned |
Trial Expiring Soon | 3 days before the trial end date |
Trial Expired | Day 14 reached without a “Plan” purchase |
Trial Converted | Paid plan purchased during or after the trial |
Important: If your trial expires without a purchase, your account access is restricted. Your data is retained, but you will need to purchase a plan to regain full access.
Step 6: Upgrade to a Paid Plan
You can initiate an upgrade at any point during or after your free trial.
1. Click Talk to Sales inside the application. This option is available from the in-app navigation.
2. A member of the Maropost sales team will contact you to help you select the right plan.
3. Once a plan is confirmed, your account transitions from trial to paid status.
- Full feature entitlements are applied based on your selected package.
- Trial restrictions are removed.
- Your billing cycle begins as configured in your subscription.
Note: Plan selection and checkout are handled with the assistance of a Maropost Sales or Customer Success representative. Self-serve checkout is not available in the current phase.
Account Status After the Trial
The table below explains what happens to your account depending on whether you upgrade or let the trial expire.
Outcome | Account Status | Access | Data |
|---|
Upgraded to paid plan | Active | Full entitlements per selected package | Retained |
Trial expired without an upgrade. | Restricted | Limited based on downgrade rules | Retained |
If your trial expires and you later decide to purchase a plan, contact the Maropost sales team to reactivate your account and restore access.
