Greetings, Maropostians!
We’re excited to introduce improved controls for SMS campaign delivery times and enhanced compliance features to help you meet regional SMS regulatory requirements. These updates give you greater flexibility and compliance control when scheduling SMS campaigns and managing sending windows.
To understand more about our latest developments, kindly read on to learn more!
New Feature: Permitted SMS Sending Hours
You can now configure SMS sending windows based on legally permitted hours. This addition lets you set start and end times for when SMS campaigns are allowed to be delivered, helping you stay compliant with local SMS regulations.
- Choose between “Campaign” or “Contact” timezone-based sending hour options on the Permitted SMS Sending Hours settings page.
- By default, SMS messages can only be delivered between 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM and can be customized in 30-minute intervals.
- A “Reset Times to Default” option allows you to quickly revert back to the original permitted timeframe if needed.
This enhancement helps ensure that SMS messages are sent during appropriate hours, whether applying settings to the whole campaign or per contact’s local timezone. To learn more about this feature, read our Permitted SMS Sending Hours article.
Enhancements: Campaign Scheduling and Timezone Controls
When setting up an SMS campaign, users can now select a Recipient Timezone field if Campaign Timezone-based sending is enabled. This makes it easier to plan delivery at specific hours, irrespective of your audience's timezones.
- The system will automatically default to the timezone in your user profile but allows adjustments as needed.
- If the send campaign window falls outside the permitted hours you’ve set, an alert displays with options to Pause Delivery (default) or Send Anyway with a compliance warning.
- Journey SMS and transactional sends will continue to deliver regardless of permitted hour restrictions.
This provides crucial control and compliance guidance while planning your SMS campaigns.
Enhancement: SMS Campaign Audience Listing and Segmentation Grouping
Previously, marketers could only send campaigns to a static group of contacts. Adding new users to the segment and resending such a campaign would prove time-consuming. To circumvent this issue, we have introduced some modifications to the SMS campaign scheduling flow.
You can now select both contact lists and segments while preparing a campaign. The campaign will send to the union of both audiences, and duplicate contacts appearing in both lists will receive the SMS only once.
