I really need the ability to selling some products by the metre but I can't seem to find any option for that.
It depends what you're trying to do. If you mean you want to sell fractional amounts of something, like 1.3m, then it's not possible. Neto uses strictly whole number quantities for inventory and sales. If you need to sell in fractions, you'll have to change the listing to something awkward like "10cm lots", or just sell by the centimeter. It's certainly not ideal. A developer could improve the way this is displayed on your website to make it easier for customers to order but internally it must still be integer amounts.
If instead you're talking about buying one item from a supplier (like a 50m roll) and then selling it as 1m lots and tracking inventory correctly, that's quite different and you'll have to explain your exact scenario.
Thanks for your response Erik, but I think since Neto hasn't implemented this type of function after being around for 10 years now is poor. Many business sell goods by the metre or by the kilogramme, and subsequent amounts lower or high than this, by not allowing this as a function would turn people away from using their platform.
Neto has many limitations 🙂 . It's certainly not right for everyone. I suspect they went with whole numbers for simplicity early on, and for historical reasons it would be far too difficult to change now. Fractional quantities are actually pretty complex internally in software and you'll run into a few system that don't offer it.
