It would be valuable to introduce geolocation targeting within Merchandising Cloud, allowing merchants to personalise merchandising experiences based on a customer's geographic location.
For businesses with multiple brick-and-mortar stores, this would enable location-specific merchandising campaigns, such as displaying different promo cards, banners, pinned products, or merchandising rules to customers based on their nearest store or region.
Some practical use cases include:
- Displaying a banner promoting in-store services or appointment bookings for the customer's closest location.
- Announcing a new store opening only to customers within the surrounding area.
- Promoting local events, workshops, or in-store demonstrations at specific stores.
- Highlighting products that are available or on promotion at a particular location.
- Running region-specific campaigns without affecting customers in other areas.
Ideally, merchants could define geographic audiences using criteria such as postcode, suburb, city, state, country, or a configurable radius around a store location.
This enhancement would help businesses deliver more relevant experiences, improve engagement with local customers, increase bookings and foot traffic to physical stores, and make merchandising campaigns significantly more targeted and effective.
