The ability to offer "made to order" as a purchase option alongside "buy now", where:
- the "made to order" price is reduced compared to the "buy now" price. Ideally the "made to order" price should be configurable as a % of the "buy now" price, so that promotions can automatically apply to both.
- "made to order" purchases do not commit stock, i.e do not deplete the product's available stock for instant purchase.
- "buy now" is the standard instant purchase method, selling available stock.
This feature allows the merchant to easily give the buyer an option to buy the item at a discounted price, though they will need to wait for the product to be available or manufactured. It also makes inventory management easier, as existing workarounds require to create 2 separate SKUs for the 2 purchase options.
