ENHANCEMENTS
Tracking Email Opens Based on Apple’s Mail Privacy Protection Feature
In the Open reports, you’ll be able to identify which opens originated from Apple devices and whether their Mail Privacy Protection feature had been enabled or disabled.
- Apple MPP Enabled indicates an Apple device with Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) turned ON.
- Apple MPP Disabled indicates an Apple device with Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) turned OFF.
Note: Marketing Cloud identifies an Open as MPP Open if it comes from a generic user agent of 'Mozilla/5.0' and an IP address that is associated with a known Apple Datacenter (Akamai or Cloudflare).
For more information, see the 'Open Report and Click Report' section in Campaign Report - Dashboard.
Segmenting Contacts Based on Apple’s Mail Privacy Protection Feature
You can now segment your contacts that opened your campaigns based on whether they have Apple’s Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) enabled or disabled.
Use the following filtering options that have been introduced in the “Opened” criteria:
- All Opens
- MPP Enabled
- MPP Disabled
Note: These MPP-based filtering options can only be used with 'Today', 'Anytime', 'In Past', 'Timeframe', 'Campaign', and 'Campaign Tag' filtering options.
For more information, see the 'Opened' section in Segment Rules.
