Audio feedback (DING!) on barcode scan product not found

Can there be a negative beep or sound when a scanned item has not been added to pos sale form? Currently, only the scanner makes the same noise when scanned whether successful or unsuccessful, it is therefore very easy for staff to bag the item without realising it hasn't scanned correctly.
Also consider a more intrusive visual feedback that prevents the cashier from continuing to scan, after a scan failed to find a product.
