Other platforms like magento support automated notification of customers via email who have orders that are not yet fulfilled. Based on the skus not yet picked/packed, information regarding the ETA for the stock to arrive (or the fact that no ETA is available as yet) are sent an email on a regularly scheduled basis until the order is completely filled.
The ETA could be picked up from the product data in Neto.
