I'd find it quite useful if there were a simple way to set up a notification (such as a pop up) to visitors of the homepage. For example it could be used to display a message that the shop is closed during a public holiday. I'd like to add this and select the page it appears on under the webstore settings, but for my case, if it only worked on the hompage that would be good enough.
Use scenario:
Customer visits shop
Message pops up (styled to look similar to the shop, not a standard browser alert message)
Customer reads message
Customer closes message
Optional but desired: message does not pop up anymore for that particular customer
