Summary
Enable Maropost Neto to support warehouse-specific pricing, allowing different selling prices depending on which warehouse is fulfilling the order.
Business Need
Many businesses using Neto operate with multiple warehouses that have different cost structures.
For example:
- Inhouse Warehouse
- Stock owned by the business.
- Lower cost price.
- Able to offer competitive pricing and promotional discounts.
- Supplier Warehouse
- Stock sourced from third-party suppliers.
- Higher and frequently changing costs.
- Requires a higher selling price to maintain profitability.
Currently, Neto uses a single selling price for a SKU regardless of which warehouse supplies the stock.
Current Issue
Example:
Warehouse | Available Stock | Cost Structure | Selling Price Required |
|---|
Inhouse | 10 | Lower Cost | $90 |
Supplier | 20 | Higher Cost | $110 |
While inhouse stock is available, selling at $90 is ideal.
However, once the inhouse stock reaches zero, Neto continues selling the same SKU at $90, even though the order is fulfilled from the supplier warehouse where the required selling price should be $110.
This results in:
- Reduced margins
- Selling below cost
- Manual intervention to update pricing
- Increased operational workload
- Risk of financial losses
For businesses with thousands of SKUs, manually adjusting prices whenever warehouse availability changes is not practical.
Proposed Solution
It would be extremely valuable if Neto could support one or more of the following:
- Warehouse-specific selling prices.
- Price rules based on the warehouse fulfilling the order.
- Automatic price switching when stock moves from one warehouse to another.
- Warehouse-specific price lists.
- Pricing rules linked to warehouse priority.
- API support for warehouse-based pricing.
Benefits
This enhancement would allow merchants to:
- Protect profit margins.
- Reduce manual price management.
- Automate pricing when warehouse availability changes.
- Support hybrid inventory models (owned stock + supplier stock).
- Improve pricing accuracy across eBay, Amazon, Shopify, and other integrated sales channels.
Use Case
This functionality is particularly beneficial for businesses that:
- Hold stock in their own warehouse.
- Supplement inventory through dropshipping or supplier warehouses.
- Maintain different cost prices for each warehouse.
- Sell across multiple marketplaces using Neto.
This feature would provide significantly greater flexibility for inventory and pricing management and help businesses avoid unintended losses when orders are fulfilled from higher-cost warehouses.
