We would like to propose an enhancement to the Control Panel that would benefit many merchants.
Currently, staff user permissions do not provide a way to restrict access to financial information while still allowing access to operational reports. We recommend introducing a dedicated "Financial Information" permission under Staff User Permissions, enabling store owners or administrators to control which users can view financial data.
This request is based on a merchant requirement where they wanted to grant certain staff members access to the Forecast Demand Report, but prevent them from viewing sensitive financial information such as Cost Price, Margins, and other financial metrics displayed within the report.
Introducing a separate permission for financial information would provide merchants with greater flexibility and security by allowing them to share operational reports without exposing confidential financial data. This enhancement would benefit a wide range of merchants who need to delegate inventory and purchasing responsibilities while maintaining appropriate access controls over sensitive business information.
