I was wondering if there are opportunities to prevent test emails or campaigns from being sent when errors are detected in the email content.
Currently, if there is a syntax or content error, attempting to send a test email displays a successful send confirmation, even though the email is not actually delivered. This can be confusing and makes it difficult to identify that the issue lies within the email content.
It would be helpful if the platform could validate the content before allowing a test send or save. If errors are detected, a warning message could clearly identify the issue and prompt the user to correct it before proceeding. This would improve the user experience, reduce confusion during testing, and make troubleshooting much faster.
A few ideas that came to mind: Syntax error message or template validation warning
- Add template validation within the Content Builder to detect malformed merge tags before the email can be saved or sent.
- Validate the email content before a test send and display a clear error if invalid template syntax is detected, rather than reporting the send as successful.
- Return a descriptive error message identifying the invalid tag or its location within the email, making it much easier for users and Support to troubleshoot.
