Can we have a static landing page while the site is in development?

Our neto site is still in development for a couple more months. We currently have a static landing page with WIX for our domain, but dont want to renew. Is it possible to make our neto domain live, but display a static landing page until we are ready to go live - but still be able to work and test the site in development mode???

 

I did find this article ( https://www.netohq.com/support/s/article/Website-Holiday-Mode) but i think that would mean we couldnt reach our proper home page for testing?

 

Any ideas? (When ive worked with other Carts, where we have been able to use a shop closed setting, which displays a static home page, but we can still bypass this to use and test the site.)

Sure, use the instructions on the page you linked under "Change Home Page Template" to create the landing page. You can still access the rest of the site using direct URLs (grab one off a product page as an example).

 

To work on your homepage, just create a new temporary content page and set it to the home page template file.

 

Alternatively, you can do your development in a different, non-live theme. I run two themes, one live and one for development code. You switch between them using special URL parameters. From the docs:

 

You can preview what a theme will look like by entering your website address, followed by /?nview= and the name of your theme e.g. mywebstore.neto.com.au/?nview=skeletal.

 

In order to change your view back to see your live theme, you can visit your site url : www.yoursiteurlhere.com/?nview=
