Customising Product Ad template

Hi guys,

 

I have created some product ads, but have been unable to locate a template file to modify the way it displays. I assumed it would be under thumbs directory, but cant find anything that matches what appears on the screen

 

Hoping to create various templates for different positions.

Product ads do indeed use the standard product thumbs by default, from \thumbs\product\template.html

 

There are a few ways you can render ads differently in different positions:

 

OPTION ONE

Create an entirely new product thumb template, and select it in the advert tag using:

[%advert type:'product' template:'my_new_template' %]

 

OPTION TWO

Specify the template code directly in the advert tag:

[%advert type:'product' %]

[%param *body%]

... your product thumb code ...

[%/param%]

[%/advert%]

 

OPTION THREE

Simpler changes can often be achieved using a combination of the advert tag's header and footer params to wrap additional markup around the thumbs (like a slider, for example) and applying custom CSS targeting this specific ad group.
