We would like a product field we can use to track product batch numbers or version numbers.
When we make a minor update to a product or want to track issues regarding a specific product run, there is no way to track this other than by changing the SKU.
There needs to be another hidden field tracked on orders which can then be referenced in reporting (sales, returns, RMA's etc).
Neto currently offers the ability to manually add serial numbers to products on orders manually. This was offered as a potential solution, but I don't see how this helps us achieve the above in any way.
This is different to the other submitted idea regarding "Lot/Batch" numbers as that submission seemed to be more geared towards managing multiple lots of inventory in stock at the same time.
