BUG fix - this appears to be a CRLF missing from a script or file? Is there a way around this bug?

BUG. I tried to delete an order and got the following bug message

Software error:

syntax error at (eval 82) line 2, at EOF

For help, please send mail to the webmaster (webmaster@10gbps.neto.com.au), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.

Is there a way to fix the order so that this bug can be sidestepped? As expected it is Saturday and I don't want to wait for Neto support to get to work on Monday morning.

Yikes, I've never encountered that. Is there anything unusual about the order?

How are you deleting it? Try ticking it in the order list screen and using the bulk delete button at the button - that may get around the error.

Failing that, if you have some technical skills you could try deleting it through the Neto API.

Hi Erik, ticking the order and using the bulk delete button is how the error occurs. If I go into the order and try to delete it, the order doesn't go away - it just sits there after the page refreshes. I'm just beginning with Neto and have no experience with the API. I suppose I was warned by a friend that Neto support is never available when you need it.

When you go into the order and click delete are there any warnings at the top of the page? They can be easy to miss - I've been caught by that before.

Make sure the order:

- Is in Cancelled status

- Has no payments applied

- Is unapproved

The quality of Neto support comes and goes. It seems ok at the moment, you should submit a ticket today and they'll probably get back to you on Monday. If it's urgent @Curtis Perri? can speed things along.

ok, I think it might be the "has no payments applied and is unapproved" steps. I cancelled the order.

How do I do the last two steps?

Urgent - all relative - I only have weekends to work on this.

thx a lot, I found two items at the very bottom of the order related to payments and I unapproved then tried to delete the order again and it worked.

I was surprised by the web error, I would have thought the system would come up with a message saying to delete this order you need to do X and Y first.

Gives me an indication that the software is not very stable....

Open the order, scroll to the bottom, click the Payment & Refund History tab. Delete any payments from there.

Click on the Payment tab, under Pay Later see if you have a button that says Unapprove. If so, click it. The status in the top right of the page will now say Cancelled Unapproved. Try deleting it again.

Not much actually happens when you delete. Confirm it's done by filtering for that order ID on the View Orders page.

It usually does, I've never seen that error before. When you first tried to delete the order there should have been a warning at the top of the page saying why it failed (probably because it was still approved). It's just really easy to miss because it's kind of small and on a busy page.

Neto's got a lot of features, and with those come bugs. In recent months they've been pushing hard to release new integrations so attention to bugs in the core platform has been... non-existent. If I had a single request of the developers it would be to listen to user bug reports and fix the long-standing bugs. Still, if you need the range of features Neto offers then you probably won't find anything else which competes. We run our whole 4-outlet, 30-staff business on the platform.

It may be a bug, but it's definitely an issue with the error messaging. If you submit a support ticket with this information, the appropriate teams can investigate and make corrections to the system, so that better information about the error can be displayed.
