Currently there is the Enable out of stock checkout setting to stop overselling products. This settings effects all customer groups.
There are times when you want to stop overselling for retail customers but still allow wholesale customers to buy out of stock products.
There is a design tweak that will do this most of the time but it can allow retail customers sometimes ordering products that are out of stock. For example:
- The product is in stock but they order more than the stock that is available.
- The customer places the product in the shopping cart and before they checkout, another customer places an order for that product so that it is now out of stock.
It would be a great idea to have a separate Enable out of stock checkout setting for each customer group, so some customers can order out of stock products while other can't.
