We have been advocating for a dedicated dropship supplier's portal for a long time now.
Honestly I was quite surprised when we were told that most webstores still push orders through email via a CSV and in return we send them shipping labels back accordingly. I find this a very manual and so many things can go wrong with this (ie supplier missed the email, goes to junk, too many emails that supplier cant keep up etc). If anyone is asking why do we choose to provide shipping labels rather than having them sort it out themselves, it's because we mainly sell furniture, and so far we have more competitive rates and a wider shipping network than some of the suppliers out there.
Wouldn't it be better if dropship suppliers can go into a portal and simply scroll through what orders do they have to process and update and also be able to potentially even produce their shipping labels over there. If you have accounts with big players like Temple & Webster and Catch you would know what I mean.
Now, I understand that Neto does have a Dropship Permission User which we can assign it to Users. But what we realised was this functionality is full of bugs and flaws, which Neto themselves admitted. One of the biggest problems was if you have Neto Inventory installed, any supplier is able to view our list of manufacturers and suppliers we ourselves purchase from, and the permission to hide that is broken. I'm glad theyve at least tried to hide the sales channels (So suppliers can't access our sales channels and mess with it) but yes, it's not good enough.
Initially, we were in a lengthy case with the Setup Services team and we were hopeful that it can get fixed, as we believe it's a bug rather than a feature, but unfortunately we were told otherwise.
Hopefully some Neto users out there are in the same boat as us, and push this up to the team's attention. I mean, surely wouldn't it be easier if dropship suppliers have a user friendly portal where they can track their orders easily without having to constantly sort bulk orders and update shipping statuses?
(ps I found out Neto had this function planned before as you might see trails of it in your control panel, but I've been told that too has been defunct for a while now)
