Best way to set up the service side of our business in Neto? Add a warehouse or another lo[...]

Our business has a service division. We sell labor and supply parts out of inventory for service. All our jobs have a code (SKU) so It's been simple enough to import them and use the 'do not track inventory" Function.

The rest of the business is a buy/sell with some light manufacturing. Anyone set up a Neto for a business that sell both products and labour and wants to report separately?

We have one warehouse. The same SKU's that we sell to a wholesale customer we use on a retail service job. We need to allocate the parts to the job as it progresses so we have "real" stock numbers, not have 4 in stock but all are allocated to jobs so nil are available for sale.

Currently we use two sales types so we can report on "sales" of product only and "workshop" that is labour and product.

Each customers invoice needs to be detailed in parts used and labour carried out. I mentioned we have non tracked SKU's for each operation that make quoting simple.

What I don't want to do it clog my sales order up in pick and pack. Some jobs are in and out in 48 hours, others can be waiting for parts for months.

Your current setup seems fine. What problems is it causing you?

You shouldn't have any issues with reserving stock, Neto has excellent support for in-progress orders. For example, an order waiting for a part to come in would usually sit in Backorder Approved. One waiting for the workshop to finish the job could sit in Hold. Both of these statuses will reserve the stock so it can't be accidentally oversold. Pick & Pack are used only for orders ready for immediate dispatch.
