FIX
To clarify, has the drastic increase in failed transactions through Paypal Checkout since 27 Jan also been investigated and fixed, or are these just being voided more quickly?
@Adrian Patman it's still unclear if the new PayPal integration is fixed or not. No one seems to be able provide a answer. Can you please shed some light on this?
@Erik Merkley @Peter Harback
Apologies for the delay in response. I have an update from our product team.
I would like to inform you that we have released some fixes for Paypal to address immediate issues. These fixes include ensuring that failed transactions do not result in a pre-authorization sitting on a customer's card for 30 days and voiding the authorization when the order was not created due to any issue.
We have also made sure that no payment is processed where there is a difference between the payment amount and the final order grand total. In such cases, we have released a fix to automatically cancel the order creation and void the authorization.
Regarding the issue of a supposedly high rate of payment failure, we are currently investigating the matter. We did not have great visibility over the issues, so we are in the process of implementing monitoring tools and logs to enable us to further analyze the issue.
To do this, we have taken some steps, such as recording the count of initiated payment requests, the count of non-completed payment requests, and full details of successful payments visible in the Control Panel. Further steps are in progress, which include adding detailed logs of failed transactions to provide us with finer data for analysis.
We are working on resolving any issues and ensuring a seamless payment process for our customers. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to address these concerns.
Thanks @Pranay Shinde
Can you please keep everyone in the loop via this thread regarding progress on this issue.
A weekly progress report would be great.
Thanks again,
