On 6th November 2020, Maropost Marketing Cloud announced that starting 10th November 2020, SSL/TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are no longer supported.
As a reminder, SSL/TLS is an industry-standard way of data encryption used across the worldwide web. SSL/TLS has multiple versions of encryption, with version 1.2 being the more modern and secure protocol that has been used for years after vulnerabilities were found in versions 1.0 and 1.1.
Maropost remains committed to securing all customer and contact data, and for this reason, we enforced the SSL/TLS 1.2 protocol only.
WHAT FEATURES WERE IMPACTED?
The majority of our features weren't impacted by this change, as most modern technology uses and has used SSL/TLS 1.2 for quite some time. We, however, identified 3 areas of the platform that may have some impact by this change.
- Legacy browsers - With this change, users cannot access Maropost login page via legacy browsers. You can find information about all the supported browsers in the System Requirements article.
- Custom APIs – If your team wants to connect an internal system with the Maropost platform to transfer data using a custom API, you must ensure that your connected systems are using the latest version (SSL/TLS 1.2) when encrypting their connection to our API servers. Have a member of your IT Team validate that all systems and connections are using SSL/TLS 1.2 protocol.
- Third-Party Integrations – Maropost had proactively reached out to all supported Third-Party Integrations to notify these providers of this change and to ensure that there were no impacts on these integrations. All Third-Party Integration providers were cooperative and mitigated any impacts except for the following:
- Click Funnels
- Ever Webinar
Note: If your team uses integrations with Click Funnels and Ever Webinar, we suggest reaching out to your Customer Success or Account Manager contact with these providers. A member of the Maropost team will be happy to help you in these conversations.
