Annexa - Netsuite Partner
API - Application Program Interface, i.e. putting a dataset from REX into a standardised format for another 3rd party system to use. Retail Express as 3 old APIs for eCommerce, Inventory Planning System and Warehouse Management Systems and a new 'unified' API. They used to be licenced individually but now they only have to pay for the API bundle and they get them all
Black pepper -
Bootcamp - 'old name' for Customer Training sessions for POS, Inventory, Customer Management. Now called Training Academy.
Client ID -the unique alphanumeric identifier for a clients Retail Express database (normally provided to 3rd parties to integrate their systems with REX through our APIs - like a security key). Can also be referred to as a GUID
EDM - Electronic Direct Mail. Mass communication tool to email our customers about new features/releases and training academies etc.
EDS - Event Driven Synchronisation - means that an integration e.g. Retail Express to Shopify sync occurs when an event occurs. For example a product name is updated in REX this will trigger an immediate sync to Shopify to update the product name there too (as opposed to say an overnight process)
Employment Hero - Human Resource management console where you request annual leave, log sick leave etc.
EPL -
ESR - abbreviation for Early Settler Furniture the first big client Retail Express ever had so alot of the original development of the software was based on their requirements
Ezypay - (Old) Payment Gateway that we use to direct debit customers for their monthly hosting service and support fees either via their bank account or credit card.
Fiserv - Integrated Eftpos (like PC-Eftpos/Tyro - but we earn a commission on this one)
GL Code - General Ledger code
Macro - within Zendesk. A saved action or standard templated response that can quickly and easily be used to update a ticket or comment. eg: our signatures are Macros
MGMT - Internal customer server database creation and management
MOTO transaction - stands for Mail Order/Telephone Order, but bascially means a 'card not present' transaction where you manually entering in the amount for the client to pay into an eftpos terminal
NPS - Net Promoter Score. Management tool that can be used to gauge the loyalty of a firm's customer relationships
Panda - Third party software we use to create our electronic contracts for clients to sign. So contracts that clients sign are often referred to as Pandas/PandaDoc or alternative a 'Solution Agreements'
PC-EFTPOS - Integrated EFTPOS partner (also see: Tyro)
PEP ? Retail Express Product Enhancement Program. Enhancement suggestions and requests lodged by customers
REX - abbreviation for Retail Express
RFID - acronym for 'Radio-Frequency Identification' digital data is encoded into RFID tags or smart labels captured by a reader via radio waves. unlike normal barcode scanners you don't have to line up the barcode on the label to scan it so saves alot of time stocktaking etc.
SaaS - stands for Software as a Service which basically means software as a monthly subscription
SDR - SDRs are sales team members who focus on reaching out, prospecting and deciding if a lead is qualified or not. SDRs pretty much are doing the ground work for more experienced salespeople to approach qualified leads.
Stripe - (New) Payment Gateway that we use to charge customers cards for their monthly hosting service and support fees and/or their licence fees inc. payment plans
Support Portal - Retail Express customer facing online support containing knowledgebase, short videos and support contact details
Tanda - a third party (integrated) time and attendance system that automates rosters, time-sheets, award or agreement rates to assist with payroll
Tyro - Integrated EFTPOS partner (also see: PC-EFTPOS)
VIP - VIP clients. VIP status is collectively determined by the sales team and Aaron. VIP clients have a dedicated phone support line
VSTS - 'new' Microsoft Team Foundation Server. This is a Development team tool used to track and test development items, bugs for investigation/fix
WindCave -
Zendesk - Cloud based customer support ticketing software. Also hosts knowledgebase and Zendesk Talk (support phone system).
zipPay - post-pay solution partner
Zoho - ('New' CRM) Customer relationship management tool. Tracks customer implementation projects from sales signoff throughout.
