Founders of Lovepop, an innovative 3D card company, John Wise and Wombi Rose met when studying to become naval architects.
On a group trip to Vietnam, however, John and Wombi were inspired by the incredible paper art form of kirigami.
The duo decided to take their engineering background and combine this ancient art with the sliceform structure used in ship design. This created a new method of creation which they called Slicegami – and thus Lovepop was born.
John and Wombi took their unique business idea to the small screen in 2015, appearing on ABCs Shark Tank programme, and secured an investment.
After experiencing tremendous growth in the following years, Lovepop is now on a mission to create one billion magical moments with its imagination-meets-engineering approach to designing incredible paper art.
The merchant now creates beautiful paper pop-up cards, stationery, decor, and gifts that make it easy to connect with loved ones in meaningful and memorable ways. Their products are sold at retail locations across the US, as well as online.
Customers using Lovepop’s popular web store, which is hosted on the Shopify ecommerce platform, will now be interacting with Merchandising Cloud technology when they carry out product searches.
