There doesn't appear to be a way to issue a 410 gone code for products deleted or deactivated. This causes crawl budget to be wasted especially when there could be thousands broken links/pages accumulated over a number of years. A solution could be incorporated into the 301 Redirect module of maropost back-end. (Alternatively give access to the htaccess file so that we can issue the redirects to 410 from there, the only problem is the htaccess file could get very large and ugly).
